ARMADA SHUT OUT SEA DOGS
SAINT JOHN – Guillaume Bergeron scored twice and Samuel Montembeault made 28 stops for the shutout as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada blanked the Saint John Sea Dogs, 6-0, Saturday on “Pink in the Rink” Night at Harbour Station.
Philippe Sanche, Joel Teasdale, Nathanael Halbert and Alexandre Delisle-Houde also found the net for Blainville-Boisbriand (5-3-2-0).
Alex Bishop made 32 stops in a losing cause for the Sea Dogs (6-4-0-0), which saw a three-game winning streak snapped.

The Armada jumped on the board with a power play goal four minutes into the first period.
Pospisil took a shot from the right circle that deflected down to the left of the crease. Sanche flicked the puck into a wide open net for a 1-0 lead.
The visitors struck again just past the nine-minute mark when Connor Bramwell fed a pass from behind the net into the slot, where Teasdale rifled a quick shot past Bishop’s blocker.
Blainville-Boisbriand made it 3-0 just 59 seconds later.
Bishop used his left leg to turn aside a long shot from the left point, but Bergeron grabbed the rebound and deposited it beyond the goalie’s reach.
Penalties hurt Saint John in the second period.
The Sea Dogs were assessed five infractions that resulted in power plays against, including two 5-on-3 opportunities. Defenceman Luke Green was also given a major penalty and game misconduct for a check to the head.
Halbert netted a man-advantage marker with more than seven minutes remaining in the second period, sending a knee-high wrist shot from the middle of the point past a screened Bishop below his blocker hand.
Bergeron’s second goal of the game was a shorthanded marker seven minutes into the third period.
After a turnover in the neutral zone, the rookie forward from St-Jerome, Quebec, picked up the loose puck and broke in, deking to his backhand and beating Bishop on his glove side.
Saint John’s best scoring chance of the game came on a power play chance with under five minutes remaining when Bokondji Imama took a pass in the middle of the slot and blistered a heavy wrist shot off the left post.
Delisle-Houde rounded out the scoring late in the final period after redirecting home a shot from the left point by Charlie Roy.
Sanche’s eventual winner and four shots on goal made him first star while Pospisil’s assist and four shots merited a second-star selection. Montembeault was named third star in front of 3,384 fans in attendance.
