Mooseheads land overage free agent Ethan Larmand

The Halifax Mooseheads have added 20-year-old forward Ethan Larmand to the roster after he cleared waivers in the OHL on Wednesday. The native of Midland, Ontario has been a member of the Sudbury Wolves since the team made him the 26th overall pick in the OHL’s 2019 Priority Selection Draft.
The 6-foot, 185-pound centreman scored 62 points and added 183 penalty minutes in 169 career games with Sudbury. His acquisition fills the vacant overage roster position for the CHL’s Number One ranked Mooseheads, as he joins forward Brody Fournier and defenceman David Moravec as the three 20-year-old players on the team.
“We’re very happy to add Ethan to our lineup. He is a character guy who plays well at both ends of the ice and will give us some extra veteran leadership in the dressing room,” said General Manager Cam Russell.
Larmand, who has served as an Alternate Captain with the Wolves for the last two seasons, was caught in a numbers game in Sudbury with four overage players on the roster. He appeared in 14 games this season and scored three goals and added one assist. With 934 career face-off wins, the centre will immediately address an area of need for the Mooseheads.
The newest member of the Herd arrived in Halifax late Wednesday night and will be in the lineup tonight, wearing number 55 when the Mooseheads host Baie-Comeau in a showdown of the QMJHL’s top two teams at Scotiabank Centre at 7pm.
