You had to be there to understand the turn of events.
For 2 periods the 4th overall Victoriaville Tigres looked in total control with a 3-0 lead over a Moose squad that look frustrated and disinterested through 40 minutes. But that’s why the game is 60 minutes long.
Brandon Whitney, who looked unbeatable through 2 periods, couldn’t control a Brent Andrews dump-in from just over centre ice which snuck by him to get the Moose on the board. That seemed to spark the Moose and they fed off the 6,960 fans that had been cheering enthusiastically for them all night. Cameron Critchlow would cut the lead to 1 on another shorthanded effort, teaming up with Brad Cuzner on a two on one. Alex Grenier tied the game 4 minutes later sending the Mooseheads faithful crazy. Trey Lewis, who was arguably the Mooseheads best player all night, scored the winner just a minute later making the comeback complete. Cameron Critchlow added another in the empty net to seal the victory. Both teams erupted into a 5 on 5 scrum with 4 seconds to play as emotionals boiled over.
Zach Fucale made 30 saves picking up his 25th win of the season tying Alexi Volkov for the franchise record for wins by a rookie goalie.
