Moose almost blow 6-0 third period lead
-www.halifaxmooseheads.ca
It’s been an eventful weekend for the Mooseheads.
Coming off a dramatic third period comeback win over the Victoriaville Tigres Friday night in Moose Country, the Herd almost blow a big lead of their own Sunday in Bathurst.
The Herd scored 6 goals in a wild 2nd period where they outshot the Titan 16-5. Ryan Falkenham with 2, Alex Grenier, Marty Frk, Alex Cote and Cameron Critchlow scored for the Moose.
The Titan were almost equal to the task scoring 5 goals in the 3rd period outshooting the Moose 17-2. The Titan nearly scored the tying goal as the final buzzer went. The third period was the flipside of a 2nd dominated by the Moose.
Not lost through all the goals and drama was the fact Mooseheads rookie Zach Fucale set the new franchise record for wins by a rookie goalie with 26, and counting. The Mooseheads organization congratulate Zach on a well-deserved and hard-earned feat in his rookie season.
The Herd will travel to Saint John Tuesday to take on the Dogs before returning back home to the Metro Centre next Saturday at 2pm versus the Memorial Cup hosts Shawinigan Cataractes.
