Rocket Updates
The PEI Rocket will face off against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, at the Charlottettown Civic Centre, tomorrow night, September 8th, at 7:00. In last Friday’s 5-3 loss to the Titan, the Rocket were missing regulars Ben Duffy, Matej Beran, Ryan Graves and Tomas Pavelka. With these four regulars out of the line-up, Coach Gordie Dwyer still identified positives in many areas of the game, as the team works towards being ready for opening night. One player that continues to stand out on a consistent basis is Alexis Pepin. Pepin lead the team in shots and hits. Tomorrow night’s line-up will closely resemble the one fans will see on opening night.
Cost of admission for tomorrow night is $5, for all ages.
Roster Moves
Matej Beran and Tomas Pavelka, returned to the team last night. Both players remained in the Czech Republic to attend the Czech World Junior team tryout camp. Both had strong camps and they are now looking forward to practicing with the Rocket this afternoon.
In another roster move, the 20 year old positions have been settled as Owen Werthner decided to go home to pursue other hockey opportunities. Captain Josh Currie, Ben Duffy and Alex Micallef will be the Rocket 20 year-old players on opening night.
Practice Time
The Rocket practice time has shifted from mornings to the afternoons at 1:15.
