Pink the Rink: Charlottetown Islanders Face off Against Breast Cancer
The Eastlink Centre will be turning pink next weekend for the Charlottetown Islanders’ annual “Pink the Rink” night.
This year’s event is taking place at the Eastlink Centre, Saturday, October 28, at 3:00pm as the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies come to town to face the Islanders.
The Islanders will be wearing special edition pink jerseys for the game, which some lucky fans will be able to take home after the game.
Fans can obtain a limited pink edition jersey by purchasing a raffle ticket or by placing a bid on the silent auction.
Raffle tickets for the game-worn jerseys will be sold in the lobby of the Eastlink Centre during both of the Islanders’ games this week. Tickets will be sold for $5 each, or three for $10.
The raffle will be drawn after the second intermission of Saturday’s game and the players will present the jerseys at the end of the game.
There will also be a silent auction at the games leading up to and including the game on October 28th, for the pink jerseys of: Pierre-Olivier Joseph, Pascal Aquin, Adam Marsh, Keith Getson, Matthew Welsh, Matthew Grouchy, Hunter Drew and Saku Vesterinen.
Fans are encouraged to join the Islanders by dressing up in pink for the game to show their support. The team shop will have pink shirts available for purchase with proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Association.
The Islanders will also be inviting all breast cancer patients and survivors to the game free of charge. To receive a complimentary ticket, breast cancer patients and survivors can book in advance by calling the Eastlink Centre box office at 902-629-6625 or by visiting the box office Monday to Friday 11:00am – 5:00pm or Saturday from noon until game time.
Tickets for October 28th game are available in person at the Eastlink Centre box office, by phone at (902) 629-6625, or online at eastlinkcentrepei.com.
