Isles fall to Acadie-Bathurst to Wrap Up the 2017 Pre-Season
In their final tune-up before the start of the regular season the Isles started slow and the Titan took advantage.
The Titan opened the scoring at 14:55 of the first with Domenic Malatesta sliding a puck passed Islanders starting goalie Matthew Welsh. Minutes later Acadie-Bathurst added to their lead on an Ethan Crossman shot through traffic.
Titan goalie Reilly Pickard was solid and his kept up the pressure in the second with Liam Murphy scoring just minutes in off of a scramble in front of the net.
As the second period was nearing its end Titan forward Samuel L’Italien wired a shot through traffic beating back-up Dakota Lund-Cornish who replaced Welsh minutes earlier.
That was all the offence the Titan would need, going on to take the game 4-0.
Discipline was a big issue for the Isles, as they found themselves in the box seven times.
The home opener for the 2017-18 regular season will be held at the Eastlink Centre on Friday, September 22 against the Moncton Wildcats at 7.p.m
