The CHL Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 20, 2002 is forwardrJarret Stoll of the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League.r
Stoll earned both the CHL Player of the Week and Husky WHLrPlayer of the Week honours by picking up six points in just two gamesrthis week, including four goals and two assists.r
On Sunday Stoll, a 2000 draft pick of the Calgary Flames,rscored three goals and one assist in the Ice’s 9-4 win over therTri-City Americans. The previous night he had one goal and one assistrin Kootenay’s 3-0 victory over the visiting Kelowna Rockets.r
Stoll, 19, is from Yorkton, Saskatchewan and he beat out therother league nominees – forward Steve Ott of the Windsor Spitfires ofrthe Ontario Hockey League and forward Pierre-Marc Bouchard of therChicoutimi Sagueneens (offensive) and goalie Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers ofrthe Sagueneens (defensive), from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.r

QUEBEC MAJOR JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUEr
There are four games in the QMJHL on Tuesday night. Hull is atrMontreal, Moncton is at Shawinigan (4) Drummondville is at Cape Bretonrand Victoriaville plays at Sherbrooke.r
On Monday night in the QMJHL, Baie-Comeau defeated Rouyn-Noranda 4-1 and Quebec edged Val-d’Or 5-4 in overtime.r
At Baie-Comeau, Kevin Deslauriers had three assists to leadrthe Drakkar attack while Joel Perrault and Pascal Pelletier both hadrone goal and one assist for the winners. Ghyslain Rousseau made 28rsaves for Baie-Comeau while Mathieu Bastien scored for the losers.r
At Quebec, Mario Joly had one goal and three assists for therwinners while Shawn Collymore had two goals and one assist, includingrthe game-winner in overtime. Denis Berube made 26 saves in the Quebecrgoal while Pierre Morvan had two goals for Val-d’Or.r
Two members of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens are the QMJHL Players of the Week for the week ending Jan. 20.r
Forward Pierre-Marc Bouchard is the QMJHL’s offensive playerrof the week while his teammate goalie Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers is therdefensive player of the week.r
Bouchard had one goal and six assists for seven points inrthree games this past week. On Jan. 17 he had a short-handed goal androne assist to lead Chicoutimi to a 5-2 win over Baie-Comeau. The nextrnight he added three assists in a 5-2 win over Val-D’Or, making him therfirst player to hit the 100-point plateau this season.r
He completed his big week Jan. 20 by picking up a pair ofrassists in a 3-1 win over Rouyn-Noranda, giving him a league leadingr102 points in just 48 games.r
Drouin-Deslauriers won three games this past week, posting ar1.67 goals against average and a save percentage of .950. He stopped 35rshots in the 5-2 win over Baie-Comeau; he made another 30 saves in ther5-2 win over Val-d’Or, and he finished the week by making 29 saves inrthe 3-1 win over Rouyn-Noranda.r
Drouin-Deslauriers is the number one ranked goalie on the NHLrCentral Scouting Bureau’s list of eligible goalies for the 2002 NHLrEntry Draft.r
