NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE AN ENTRANT’S CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
The From the CHL to the NHL | Win NHL27 (the “Contest”) is governed by these official rules (the “Official Rules”) and all applicable laws. By entering, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding on matters relating to the Contest, subject to applicable law.
1. Sponsor
The Contest is sponsored by the Canadian Hockey League, with its address at 5401 Eglinton Avenue West, Suite 105, Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, M9C 5K6 (the “Sponsor” or “CHL”).
2. Eligibility
The Contest is open only to legal residents of Canada and legal residents of the U.S. states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, Washington and Oregon who, at the time of entry, have reached the legal age of majority in their province, territory or state of residence.
Employees, officers, directors, players, representatives and agents of the Sponsor, its member leagues and clubs, EA Sports (“EA Sports”), Tradeable Bits Media Inc., and each of their affiliates and related entities, and other prize suppliers, promotional partners, advertising and promotion agencies and any other individual(s), entity or entities involved in the development, promotion, production, implementation, administration, judging or fulfillment of the Contest, and each of their respective parents, affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, the “Contest Parties”), as well as members of their immediate families and persons living in the same household (whether related or not), are not eligible to participate in the Contest. “Immediate family” means spouse, parent, child, sibling and the spouse of each, whether or not they live in the same household.
The Sponsor may require proof of identity, age, residency and eligibility to enter the Contest at any time and for any reason. Failure to provide satisfactory proof within the timeline specified by the Sponsor may result in disqualification. The Contest is void outside the eligible territory and wherever prohibited by law.
3. Contest Period
The Contest begins at 9:00 am ET on September 24, 2026 and ends at 8:59 pm PDT/11:59 pm EDT on October 12, 2026 (the “Contest Period”). The Sponsor’s designated server is the official timekeeping device. Entries received before or after the Contest Period are void.
4. How to Enter
During the Contest Period, visit the contest landing page at https://chl.tbits.me/tb_app/558618889
(the “Platform”), follow the on-screen instructions and submit the entry form with all required information, including selecting (i) your favourite CHL member league, (ii) your favourite CHL club, and (iii) either PlayStation or Xbox as your preferred gaming console. Entry is free. Standard internet or mobile data charges imposed by an entrant’s provider may apply and are the entrant’s responsibility.
Limit: ONE (1) ENTRY PER PERSON PER EMAIL ADDRESS DURING THE CONTEST PERIOD. Multiple entrants may not share the same email address. Automated, scripted, robotic, macro, bulk, commercial or third-party entries are prohibited and any such entry may be disqualified from the Contest in the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Entries that are incomplete, late, misdirected, illegible, fraudulent or otherwise non-compliant are void.
If there is a dispute about an entrant’s identity, the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter will be deemed the entrant, subject to proof of eligibility. “Authorized account holder” means the natural person assigned the email address by the applicable provider or organization.
Consent to receive marketing communications from CHL and/or the member leagues is optional, is not required to enter or win, and will not improve an entrant’s odds of winning. If an entrant separately opts in to receive communications from the CHL, a member league, a club or a partner, as applicable, that organization will use the entrant’s information for the purposes stated beside that consent and under its own privacy policy. An entrant may withdraw marketing consent using the unsubscribe or preference-management method provided.
5. Entry Conditions
An entry is received when all required information has been provided and the Platform records a complete submission. Proof that an entrant attempted to submit an entry is not proof of receipt. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, corrupted, misdirected or incompatible entries or for technical, network, device, browser, platform or human errors.
The Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process; circumvents an entry limit; uses multiple identities, accounts or devices to obtain entries contrary to these Official Rules; provides false information; interferes with the fair operation of the Contest; acts in an abusive, disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner; or is in violation of the Sponsor’s interpretation of the letter or spirit of these Official Rules.
6. Winner Determination
Within five (5) business days of the end of the Contest Period, the Sponsor will conduct a random electronic draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. Thirty (30) potential winner(s) will be selected. The draw will take place in the office of the Sponsor or such other location in Canada as the Sponsor may determine.
7. Prize(s)
Thirty (30) prizes are available to be won. Each prize consists of a digital copy of EA SPORTS NHL27 for the winners’ selected gaming consol identified in the entry submission. The approximate retail value (“ARV”) is CAD$90 per prize and CAD$2,700 in total for all 30 prizes. For U.S. disclosure purposes, the approximate value is US$65 per prize and US$1,950 in total, calculated using the Bank of Canada’s exchange rate as of September 17, 2026, which is published each business day by 4:30 ET. The Bank of Canada calculates its exchange rates by collecting indicative mid-market quotes for each currency pair every minute between 8:00 and 16:00 ET and then calculating a truncated mean for each currency pair.
A prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be transferred, assigned or redeemed for cash, except that in the sole discretion of the Sponsor, it may substitute a prize or component of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable. The Sponsor will not replace a lost, stolen, late, misdirected, damaged or expired ticket, code, gift card or other prize after delivery to the winner. Any difference between an advertised value and actual value will not be awarded.
Unless expressly included above, all costs associated with acceptance or use of a prize are the winner’s responsibility, including taxes, fees, insurance, transportation and incidental expenses.
The Releasees (as defined in Section 15) do not make any representation or warranty (express or implied) with respect to the quality or fitness of a prize and the winner hereby understands and acknowledges that he or she may not seek any reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from any of the Releasees in respect of the forgoing. If a prize or component thereof does not prove to be satisfactory to the winner, in whole or in part, by accepting a prize the prize winner agrees to waive all recourse against the Releasees.
8. Odds of Winning
The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period in accordance with these Official Rules.
9. Canadian Skill-Testing Question
Before being confirmed as a winner, a potential winner who is a resident of Canada must correctly answer, without assistance, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by telephone, email, web form or declaration document. If the potential winner answers incorrectly, does not answer within the stated time, or otherwise fails this requirement, the potential winner will be disqualified and the Sponsor may select an alternate potential winner using the method described above.
The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to administer an alternate test of skill for residents of Canada as it deems appropriate based on the circumstances and/or to comply with applicable law.
10. Notification and Verification
No entrant is a winner until confirmed by the Sponsor. The Sponsor will attempt to contact each potential winner by email using the contact information provided at entry. A potential winner must respond within five (5) business days after the first notification attempt and must confirm that they are able to use the prize as awarded, complete any declaration of eligibility, release, or prize-acceptance document reasonably required by the Sponsor within the designated timelines.
A potential winner may be disqualified and an alternate may be randomly selected at the sole discretion of the Sponsor if the potential winner cannot be contacted; fails to respond or return required documents on time, including any declaration of eligibility, release or prize-acceptance document; fails the Canadian skill-testing question; is found ineligible; declines the prize; or does not comply with these Official Rules. The Sponsor may limit the number of alternate selections in its sole discretion. If no eligible potential winner is confirmed after those attempts, the prize may remain unawarded where permitted by law.
11. Publicity
Except where prohibited by law, a confirmed winner agrees that the Sponsor and its designees may identify the winner by first name, last name, city and province/territory/state of residence, and otherwise publish or reproduce the winner’s name, image, voice, likeness, biography, statements or submitted content for advertising or promotional purposes in any manner or medium whatsoever (including print, broadcast or the internet) in perpetuity, without any notification, compensation, review or approval.
12. User-Generated Content
Each entrant represents and warrants that their submission is original to the entrant; does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, moral or other rights of a third party; does not violate any applicable laws; does not contain or depict unlawful, hateful, defamatory, dangerous, obscene or deceptive material; and does not identify or depict another person without any permission required by law.
The entrant retains ownership of the submission. By entering the Contest, the entrant grants the Sponsor a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, adapt for formatting, modify, edit, publish, display and evaluate the entry submission solely to administer, judge, advertise and publicize the Contest and announce the results in perpetuity. The entrant waives moral rights in the entry submission to the extent permitted by law for those uses and agrees to release, indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from and against all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses arising from the use of such entry submission, including, without limitation, any claim based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy, copyright infringement, trade-mark infringement or any other intellectual property related or other cause of action whatsoever.
The Sponsor may remove or disqualify content that it reasonably believes violates these Official Rules, but is not required to monitor all content.
13. Privacy
By entering the contest, each entrant consents to the Sponsor collecting, using and disclosing personal information provided in connection with the Contest for purposes of administering the Contest, verifying eligibility, contacting potential winners, awarding prizes, preventing fraud, maintaining required records and complying with law. Personal information may be processed by the Sponsor and other service providers acting on the Sponsor’s behalf, including in jurisdictions outside an entrant’s province, territory, state or country, where it may be subject to local law.
The Sponsor’s handling of personal information is described in its privacy policy at https://chl.ca/privacy_policy/. Questions or requests relating to personal information may be directed to the Privacy Officer as outlined in the privacy policy.
14. General Conditions
The Sponsor may cancel, suspend, modify or terminate the Contest, in whole or in part, or otherwise amend these Official Rules, if fraud, technical failure, security incident, unauthorized intervention, legal requirement, public-health or safety issue, event cancellation, labour disruption, force majeure or another cause beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity, fairness, security or proper operation of the Contest. If feasible and lawful, the Sponsor may select winners from eligible, non-suspect entries received before the action or by another fair method described in a notice.
The Sponsor may suspend, amend or terminate the Contest without any prior notice or obligation in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind, or for any other reason whatsoever. If campaign advertising, disclosures or other statements made in Contest related materials, including points of sale, television, print or online advertising, conflicts with these Official Rules, these Official Rules govern, subject to applicable law.
The Sponsor may modify any of the dates, timeframes or other Contest mechanics outlined in these Official Rules, to the extent deemed necessary by the Sponsor, for any reason.
Any attempt by an entrant to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest in any way, as determined in the sole discretion of the Sponsor, may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The Sponsor’s failure to enforce a provision of these Official Rules is not a waiver. If a provision of these Official Rules is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
15. Release and Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, each entrant releases and holds harmless the Contest Parties and Social Media Platforms (defined in Section 16 below) and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, successors, assigns and agents (collectively, the “Releasees”) from claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses arising out of participation in the Contest or acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize, except to the extent a claim cannot lawfully be released or limited, including liability that applicable law does not permit a party to exclude for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, bodily injury or other protected matters. The Releasees will bear no liability whatsoever regarding any collection, storage and disclosure of any personal information in connection with the administration of the Contest. If it is discovered that an entrant has not fully complied with the Official Rules, the Releasees shall be held harmless by such entrant and this release and indemnity shall continue in full force and effect following termination of the Contest and/or awarding of any prize in the Contest.
Without limiting rights that cannot be waived, the Releasees are not responsible for technical malfunctions or viruses; interrupted or unavailable networks, servers or platforms, including with respect to the Platform; unauthorized human intervention; inaccurate entry information or failure of receipt of any entry or entry information; failure of email or direct messaging on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or combination thereof; printing, programming or administration errors; injury or damage to a person or property resulting from participation in the Contest or use of a prize; an entrant being incorrectly or mistakenly identified as a winner or eligible winner; or any combination of the foregoing.
16. Social-Media Disclaimer
The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with any social media platform, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok or LinkedIn (collectively, a “Social Media Platform”). Each entrant releases the Social Media Platforms from all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses arising from the Contest to the extent permitted by law. Questions must be directed to the Sponsor, not the Social Media Platform.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
The Contest and these Official Rules are governed by applicable federal, provincial, territorial, state and municipal laws. Subject to mandatory consumer protections and any rights that cannot lawfully be waived, these Official Rules and issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforcement of these Official Rules will be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Entrants retain any non-waivable rights and remedies available in their place of residence.
