First Career NHL Goal scored by Adam Boqvist
Adam Boqvist needed little time to get his name on an NHL scoresheet.
Appearing in only his second game with the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 3, the first-year blue-liner lit the lamp early in the first period when he walked into the slot and sniped a perfect shot by Anaheim Ducks goaltender Ryan Miller.
Skating in his second game in as many nights, it’s been a whirlwind year for Boqvist, who began the season with the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs before getting the call to the big club on Oct. 31.
One you'll never forget.

“It’s a dream. You always look up to scoring your first goal and playing in the NHL,” Boqvist told reporters following the 3-2 overtime victory. “I felt pretty good these two games and that can help me a lot out there.”
Boqvist joins the Blackhawks after spending one season with the OHL’s London Knights, a campaign in which he finished with 60 points counting 20 goals and 40 assists across 54 appearances to lead all Knights defencemen in scoring and earn a spot on the OHL Second All-Star Team.

“He’s been really good,” added Blackhawks head coach Jeremy Colliton. “Obviously he does bring that dimension to the power play. He can finish. He has a great release. His movement is fantastic back there. He could have scored in overtime too.
“Clearly, he’s having an impact on the game but I think defensively he’s been quite good. We feel pretty comfortable with him out there. Obviously we’re trying to protect him when we can but he’s made a really good impression so far.”
Chosen eighth overall by the Blackhawks in 2018, Boqvist was previously selected by London with the 109th pick in the 2017 CHL Import Draft. He skated in his native Sweden in 2017-18 before joining the Knights the following season.
