Colts Eliasson inks ELC with Senators

Barrie Colts defenceman Gabriel Eliasson signed a three-year entry-level deal with the Ottawa Senators yesterday.

The six-foot-seven defenceman recorded two goals and six assists in 61 games this season, establishing himself as a shutdown presence in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Over his two-year OHL career, Eliasson has totaled five goals and 10 assists in 124 games, along with 238 penalty minutes.

The Swedish blueliner was selected 12th overall by the Niagara IceDogs in the 2024 OHL Import Draft before being traded to the Colts. Prior to playing his first OHL game, he was selected 39th overall in the 2025 NHL Draft by the Ottawa Senators.

Internationally, Eliasson captured bronze at the 2024 U18 World Championships.
