- The Moncton Wildcats (1) made it six straight wins after a dominant 7-1 win over Chicoutimi. The Wildcats’ eight wins are tied for the Q lead while they’re the first club to 50 goals this season.
- The Brampton Steelheads (2) snapped a three-game losing streak after a 3-2 shootout victory over Ottawa as Luke Misa (CGY) and Porter Martone (2025) each scored in the skills competition.
- The Prince George Cougars (3) dropped a 7-3 decision to Lethbridge. It was just their fourth regulation loss in 13 games this year.
- A 6-3 victory over Moose Jaw saw the Medicine Hat Tigers (5) get back to .500.
- The London Knights (6) saw its three-game winning streak snapped after a 5-1 loss to Saginaw in a rematch of the 2024 Memorial Cup final.
- With an 8-2 victory over Victoriaville, the Drummondville Voltigeurs (7) also won their eighth game of the season to match the Wildcats. The defending QMJHL champions are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games.
- A brief two-game winning streak for the Niagara IceDogs (8) ended Friday after they were doubled up 4-2 by Kitchener. The IceDogs remain atop the OHL’s Central Division alongside North Bay.
- The Windsor Spitfires (9) won their second straight after a 4-1 road win over Guelph. The Spits’ seven wins and 15 points are the most in the OHL.
NHL prospect watch
- Liam Greentree (LA) had a goal and three assists in Windsor’s 4-1 win against Guelph. The Spits captain leads the OHL in scoring this season with 20 points. His teammate, Ilya Protas (WSH), had three points (2G, 1A) in the win. Protas’ 12 points are tied for the eighth most in the league.
- In their first meeting since the 2024 Memorial Cup final, Zayne Parekh (CGY) had two goals to lead Saginaw to a 5-1 win over London.
- Ethan Gauthier (TB) had a pair of goals in Drummondville’s win over Victoriaville. The QMJHL champion, who played in his 200th career game Friday, has nine points (four goals) in five games.
- Etienne Morin (CGY) matched his career high with four assists during Moncton’s 7-1 win over Chicoutimi. Morin has 11 points (three goals) in eight contests this year to sit tied third in scoring among Q d-men.
- Tij Iginla (UTA) scored twice as Kelowna blanked Wenatchee 4-0. Iginla, who scored 47 times a year ago, has six goals in as many games this year.
Nightly notes
- Charles-Edward Gravel made 25 saves to record his second shutout of the season as Saint John blanked Acadie-Bathurst 3-0. Gravel is 5-2-0 with a 1.96 GAA and .938 save percentage.
- Volts captain Luke Woodworth had four assists in a 7-1 win over the Tigres. Woodworth had 17 points this season, all of which are assists.
- Miguel Marques tallied five assists and Will Sharpe (2025) had four points (2G, 2A) as Lethbridge beat Prince George 7-3. Both Marques and Sharpe are tied second in Hurricanes scoring with 10 points.
- Reid Dyck made 38 saves to record his fifth career WHL shutout as Swift Current beat Spokane 5-0.
