CHL to NHL: former ICE captain Lambos debuts with Wild
Former Winnipeg ICE captain Carson Lambos made his NHL debut with the Minnesota Wild Thursday.
In a 5-2 win over Columbus, Lambos played 10:16 and tallied one shot, one block and a +1 rating.
The second overall pick in the 2018 WHL Draft, Lambos spent his entire WHL career in the ICE organization where he made 176 appearances and tallied 128 points (31 goals) from the blue line between 2018-2023.
The Winnipeg native was named to the WHL East Division First All-Star Team in 2022 after a 47-point campaign while in his final season, he captained the ICE and registered a career high 48 points as the ICE reached the WHL Championship Series. Internationally, Lambos was a gold medallist with Canada at the 2022 World Juniors.
As a pro, Lambos has played 163 games for the AHL’s Iowa Wild ahead of his NHL debut.
Minnesota selected the 22-year-old with the 26th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft.
