441 CHL graduates on NHL opening night rosters and taxi squads

A total of 441 Canadian Hockey League players past and present have been named to opening night rosters and taxi squads to begin the 2020-21 National Hockey League season.

All 60 CHL clubs are represented by at least one graduate, with the 441 players counting 205 from the Ontario Hockey League, 140 from the Western Hockey League, and 96 from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The London Knights lead all CHL clubs with 31 representatives followed by the Soo Greyhounds with 19 and the Kelowna Rockets with 18. The Drummondville Voltigeurs, Quebec Remparts, and Saint John Sea Dogs lead the QMJHL, each with 10.

Among the NHL’s 31 clubs, the Edmonton Oilers lead the way with 20 CHL graduates, including reigning NHL MVP Leon Draisaitl who appeared in 160 career contests with the Prince Albert Raiders and Kelowna Rockets from 2012-15. The Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights sit second to the Oilers, both icing rosters with 19 CHL graduates.

The CHL proudly continues to be the leading producer of NHL players.
