2026-27 CHL Top-10 Rankings: Week 4
The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) today unveiled its Week 4 edition of the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2026-27 season, with the top four from last week remaining the same in week 4.
The Ontario Hockey League’s (OHL) Guelph Storm (6-2-0-0) won both sides of a home and home with Owen Sound this weekend to remain in the top spot, while the Québec Maritimes Junior Hockey League’s (QMJHL) Québec Remparts (7-1-0-0) rode an offensive surge by James Scantlebury to their seventh consecutive win and second spot in the top 10. The Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Victoria Royals (5-1-0-0) also won both games this weekend, headlined by a four-goal game by Hayden Moore and goaltending heroics from Cole Prelusky, to remain in third.
Re-entering the top 10 this week are the red-hot Brandon Wheat Kings, who rose to number eight after five consecutive victories.

1. Guelph Storm (OHL)
A clean sweep of Owen Sound over the weekend, which brought their winning streak to six games, keep the Storm (6-2-0-0) at the top of the rankings in week 4. They kicked things off at home on Friday with the first three goals of the game, then held on late to secure a 3-2 victory. They then took the road half of their home-and-home series 10-5 to cap off the weekend. Owen Griffin (1G-6A) starred with one goal and seven points, launching him into a tie for third place in the OHL scoring race with 14 points. A five-point Saturday night for New York Islanders prospect Vladimir Dravecky (2G-3A) put him into a tie for the top spot in scoring amongst OHL defencemen. Ryan Roobroeck (2G-2A) had back-to-back multi-point outings and Illia Shybinskyi (2G-1A) scored in both games for his first two goals of the season. With a goal each on the weekend, Carter Kucher and Adrien Bartovic tallied their first OHL markers. Zach Jovanovski (0.67 GAA and .974 save percentage in three games this season) shone again, allowing just two goals on 33 shots in Friday’s win. With three games against three teams all in the top half of the OHL standings, Guelph has a busy and difficult week ahead.
Games this week: @ Sarnia (Oct. 14), vs. Flint (Oct. 16), vs. Sudbury (Oct. 18)
2. Québec Remparts (QMJHL)
A pair of weekend victories, powered by eight points from 2027 draft-eligible James Scantlebury (2G-6A), surged the Remparts (7-1-0-0) to the top of the QMJHL standings. Nathan Quinn (2G-2A) scored two goals in the first 24 minutes of Saturday’s matchup against Cape Breton before Mavrick Rousseau-Hamel’s first of the year at 15:31 of the second period wound up being the game winner. The following day, the Remparts ended a back-and-forth contest with Chicoutimi by holding off a late Saguenéens push, winning 7-6. Maddox Dagenais (3G) had a hat trick, including the game winner, while Nikita Ovcharov (1G-3A) and Alexandre Taillefer (1G-5A) each had four points in the win. With his eight points, Scantlebury sits tied for second in QMJHL scoring and in first spot in the CHL rookie scoring race. Next up, the Remparts host Gatineau on Friday before heading on the road to take on Victoriaville on Sunday.
Games this week: vs. Gatineau (Oct. 16), @ Victoriaville (Oct. 18)
3. Victoria Royals (WHL)
After dropping their first game of the season last Sunday against Brandon, the Royals (5-1-0-0) jumped right back into the win column this weekend and in dominant fashion, winning two games against tough opponents by a combined score of 11-3. Six goals by six players gave the Royals a balanced attack in a 6-1 defeat of the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday, with Wyatt Danyleyko’s second-period marker proving to be the game winner. Danyleyko, Savin Virk (1G-3A), Filip Novak (1G-1A), Drayden Uhrina (1G-1A) and Cameron Schmidt (1G-2A) each had two points on the opening game of the weekend. The following night, it was Hayden Moore who took the lead, piling up four goals in a 5-2 victory over Calgary. Nolan Stewart (3A), Odin Vauhkonen (3A) and Virk each had two assists, with Virk’s being his second two-point night of the weekend. In net, Cole Prelusky (2.25 GAA and .929 save percentage) continued to shine by backstopping the Royals to both victories and allowing just three goals on 67 shots in the process. The Royals will head east for a Wednesday-night matchup with the Hurricanes in Lethbridge, before making their way north with Friday and Sunday games against Red Deer and Edmonton.
Games this week: vs. Lethbridge (Oct. 14), vs. Red Deer (Oct. 16), vs. Edmonton (Oct. 18)
4. London Knights (OHL)
After dropping their first game of the season last Sunday against Flint, the Knights (4-1-0-1) held on for a point against Erie before falling in a shootout. Eloan Le Gallic’s third goal of the season opened the scoring and put him into a tie for third on the team in goals before Cohen Bidgood’s second point of the night (1G-1A) put them up by two. Thomas Zocco’s team-leading fifth goal of the season put them back into the lead after a pair of second-period Otter goals, but Broden McArthur’s first OHL goal knotted things late in regulation for Erie. While Anaheim Ducks first rounder Marcus Nordmark scored his first OHL shootout goal, Erie put two past Aleksei Medvedev to secure the extra point. With an assist, Jonathan Kapageridis remains tied for the points lead amongst OHL defencemen. Like the Storm, the Knights will play three games this week after a light Thanksgiving weekend. They’ll head to the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on Tuesday for a battle with the Rangers, before a top-10 matchup with Sudbury and a rematch against the Otters in Pennsylvania.
Games this week: @ Kitchener (Oct. 13), vs. Sudbury (Oct. 16), @ Erie (Oct. 17)
5. Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL)
A five-game winning streak, including three victories last week, has launched the Sea Dogs (6-1-1-1) up to the number five spot in this week’s rankings. Jamie Glance (2G-4A) opened Friday’s game against Rouyn-Noranda with two goals that the Sea Dogs never looked back from in a 6-3 win. The next day, three unanswered second-period goals put Saint John up 4-1, before they held off a third-period Charlottetown push to hold on for a 4-3 win. And finally, Glance played hero in the shootout for the Sea Dogs as they overcame a late tying goal from Drummondville that forced overtime. Zachary Morin (2G-2A) and Dylan Rozzi (3A) each had points in all three games, while Alexis Joseph (2G-1A), Thomas Charbonneau (3A) and Jabez Seymour (1G-2A) had three-point weekends. Samuel Meloche stopped 56 of 62 shots, and all three shooters in Monday’s shootout, in two wins over the weekend, and 2010-born Lawrence Williams scored his first QMJHL goal in Monday’s win against Drummondville. The Sea Dogs remain at home this weekend for the final two games of a six-game home stretch, with their third game of the season against Cape Breton on Saturday and then Val-d’Or on Sunday.
Games this week: vs. Cape Breton (Oct. 17), vs. Val-d’Or (Oct. 18)
6. Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL)
After a 4-1 start to the season, the Tigers (4-2-0-1) fall one spot in this week’s rankings after earning just one of four points this weekend against the #3-ranked Victoria Royals and the Edmonton Oil Kings. Their 4-3 shootout loss to the Oil Kings featured a comeback to take the game to extra time, courtesy of a Dayton Reschny goal with just four minutes remaining, and multi-point games from Liam Ruck (1G-1A) and Markus Ruck (2A). The following night, Luke Cozens team-leading fourth goal was the Tigers only marker in a 6-1 loss to Victoria, while Carter Casey allowed six goals after four consecutive strong starts to open the campaign. The Tigers will take to the road this weekend – in Regina on Friday and Brandon for a game against the #8-ranked Wheat Kings on Saturday – as they look to rebound.
Games this week: @ Regina (Oct. 16), @ Brandon (Oct. 17)
7. Sudbury Wolves (OHL)
The Wolves (6-0-1-0) kept rolling this weekend, collecting three of a possible four points and extending their season-opening point streak to seven games. They came within 20 seconds of extending their win streak to six on Thursday night in North Bay, before the Battalion tied it and then won in overtime. The following night, the Wolves overcame a 3-1 deficit against Peterborough to win 7-3 and jump back into the win column. Rowan Henderson (2G) and Jan Chovan (2G-1A) scored in both games, while Jean-Christoph Lemieux (2G-2A), Adam Nemec (4A) and Mason Walker (1G-2A) stepped up with productive weekends. Another two points from 2025 OHL fifth overall pick Kash Kwajah (2A) gives him nine points in seven games to open his rookie campaign, good for third in OHL rookie scoring. Sudbury will hit the road this week for a trio of games – Windsor on Thursday before games against the #4-ranked London Knights and #1-ranked Guelph Storm.
Games this week: @ Windsor (Oct. 15), @ London (Oct. 16), @ Guelph (Oct. 18)
8. Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL)
After starting the season 2-2, the Wheat Kings (7-2-0-0) have now won five straight games after a five-game sweep on their B.C. road trip to vault themselves back into the top 10. They collected four of those five wins last week in a stretch of four games in five days. A Kris Muissu (2G-3A) shootout goal and a 35-save performance by Minnesota Wild prospect Filip Ruzicka gave Brandon the extra point in a Tuesday night victory of Vancouver, then Joby Baumuller (5G-1A) had three points to power the Wheat Kings to two wins in two nights in Kamloops. Baumuller had a hat trick while Colin Grubb (5A) had four assists in their 7-3 Friday night victory in Penticton, then Cole Slobodian (1G) capped off their road trip with a goal 1:41 into overtime to give them a 3-2 win over Kelowna. With four and five points respectively in the week, Chase Surkan (1G-3A) and Muissu (2G-3A), in his rookie and overage season, lead the team with 11 points each. Ruzicka stopped 83 of 88 shots on the weekend in three wins, while Ryley Budd had 29 stops on 30 shots to earn the other one. The Wheat Kings return home this weekend for a lighter workload than last, with two games. They’ll host #6-ranked Medicine Hat on Saturday and then Prince Albert on Sunday.

9. Spokane Chiefs (WHL)
The Chiefs (6-1-0-0) dropped their first game of the year against Lethbridge on Friday, before holding on for a 3-2 win over Everett on Saturday to get back to their winning ways. Spokane staged a comeback effort after going down 3-0 less than 23 minutes into their Friday night game in Lethbridge, but fell short after dominating the shot count 40-22. The next night, Luca Jarvis (1G-1A), Owen Martin (1G-1A) and Rhett Sather (3A) each had two points in a winning effort. Brody Gillespie (1G-1A) and 2010-born Parker Colmer (2A) joined them in multi-point weekends. With a 32-save victory against the Silvertips, Carter Esler (5-0, 1.57 GAA and .937 save percentage) continues a dominant season in his first year of NHL draft eligibility. 10. Rimouski Océanic (QMJHL)
The Océanic (6-2-1-0) opened their weekend series against Newfoundland with a 4-3 loss on Friday night, then rebounded for a dominant 6-1 victory in the rematch the next afternoon. Mathys Dubé’s three-point weekend (2G-1A) brought him to fourth in the QMJHL scoring race with 16 and back-to-back two point games for draft-eligible Caiden Pellegrino (2G-2A) brought him to a tie for ninth. With a goal and assist on the weekend each, A.J. Schaaf and Maximillian Mares kept their hot starts going, while Rafaël Cloutier’s (1G) insurance goal on Saturday and Thomas Belzil’s power play assist on Friday kept the Océanic with six players at or above a point-per-game pace.
