CHL Playoff Notebook: April 7, 2019
A busy night on the playoff calendar saw 16 teams take to the ice:
Ontario Hockey League
A trio of players finished with two goals apiece, including deadline acquisition Ryan McLeod, in the Saginaw Spirit‘s 10-1 stomping of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds en route to a 2-0 series advantage.
A three-point afternoon by Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy winner Jason Robertson lifted the Niagara IceDogs to a 5-1 victory over the Oshawa Generals to push his team’s series lead to two games.
Centre Kevin Hancock‘s three-point effort, including two goals and one assist, powered the London Knights to a 7-0 win over the Guelph Storm and a perfect playoff record through six games.
Ottawa 67’s netminder Michael DiPietro turned aside 27 shots by the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday en route to a career-first playoff shutout and a 5-0 victory to give his team a 2-0 series edge.

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
Right-wing Mitchell Balmas‘ goal midway through the third period stood as the game winner for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in Sunday’s 2-1 win over the Rimouski Oceanic to even the series through two games.

Western Hockey League
The Prince Albert Raiders won their sixth-straight playoff game following a 3-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades on Sunday in which centre Dante Hannoun led the way with one goal and one assist.

Four different skaters, including draft-eligible defenceman Matthew Robertson, found the back of the net as the Edmonton Oil Kings dumped the Calgary Hitmen 4-1 in Game 2 to push their lead to two games.
Eli Zummack‘s third goal of the postseason midway through the middle frame stood as the eventual game winner as the Spokane Chiefs defeated the Everett Silvertips 3-1 to gain a 2-0 series advantage.
