As the 2025-26 CHL season gets set to begin tonight, there is already one eye on the 2026 NHL Draft.
In its preseason rankings, TSN has named eight CHL players in its Top 16 led by Niagara’s Ryan Roobroeck at no. 4.
Last season, Roobroeck finished 13th in OHL scoring with 87 points while his 41 goals were tied for the sixth most. He also won gold with Canada at the 2025 U18 World Championships where he had nine points (four goals) in seven games.
Windsor’s Ethan Belchetz (no. 5), Vancouver’s Ryan Lin (no. 7), Prince Albert’s Daxon Rudolph (no. 9) and Sault Ste. Marie’s Chase Reid (no. 10) round out the Top 10.
Prince George’s Carson Carels (no. 11), Peterborough’s Adam Novotny (no. 12) and Spokane’s Mathis Preston (no. 13) complete the CHL players listed.
The 2026 NHL Draft will take place next June in a yet to be determined location.
