CHL Today: Colts win 1,000th game in franchise history

The Barrie Colts won their 1,000th game in franchise history Thursday night after a 4-3 shootout win over Owen Sound on home ice. Across 1,901 games, the Colts are 1,000-719-107 all-time with 75 ties and were crowned OHL champions in 2000.
CHL Top 10
- The Moncton Wildcats (1) made it five straight wins courtesy of an 8-5 victory against Saint John. The Wildcats lead the QMJHL in goals scored (43) and goals against (21).
- The Niagara IceDogs (8) collected a second straight win after a come-from-behind overtime victory over Ottawa. Trailing 4-1 in the third, Jack Brauti completed the comeback 37 seconds into the extra frame.
NHL prospect watch
- Martin Misiak (CHI) had the overtime winner for Erie in a 2-1 victory over Kingston. In five games this year, Misiak has played at a point-per-game pace.
- Niagara’s Kevin He (WPG) continued his impressive start to the season with a three-point (2G, 1A) effort in the IceDogs win against Ottawa. He scored twice in a 1:48 span inside the final five minutes of the game to force overtime. He leads the OHL in scoring with 18 points (nine goals).
- Tanner Molendyk (NSH) had a season high four points (1G, 3A) in Saskatoon’s 6-2 road win over Edmonton. In four games, Molendyk has seven points this year.
Nightly notes
- Yoan Loshing recorded his fifth QMJHL hat-trick and Caleb Desnoyers (2025) had a career best five points (2G, 3A) as the top-ranked Wildcats defeated the Sea Dogs. Loshing’s 12 points are the second most among Wildcats skaters while Desnoyers has eight points (three goals) in just five games.
- Gatineau’s Jeremie Minville scored a hat-trick and Kian Hodgins made all 22 saves as the Olympiques blanked the Remparts 4-0. Minville’s 10 goals this season are tied for the second most in the QMJHL while the shutout was Hodgins first of his career.
- The Acadie-Bathurst Titan recorded their QMJHL best eighth win of the season after a 3-2 shootout win against Chicoutimi. Louis-François Bélanger had the only goal of the shootout for an Acadie-Bathurst squad that are 8-3-0 thus far.
