MasterCard Memorial Cup Social Tickets on Sale Now
Brandon, Manitoba – The Brandon MasterCard Memorial Cup Host Committee is pleased to announce that tickets will go on sale Monday morning, March 1st at the Keystone Centre box office for both Saturday night Socials, scheduled to be held during the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup this May.

Legendary guitarist, songwriter, performer and producer Randy Bachman will be kicking off Manitoba Homecoming 2010 with a visit to the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup on Saturday, May 15th while seven-time Juno Award winner Tom Cochrane will be performing on Saturday, May 22nd in the Keystone Centre’s Manitoba Room.

Born in Winnipeg, Bachman was lead guitarist, songwriter and founding member for The Guess Who, and Brave Belt, which eventually metamorphosized into Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Bachman’s celebrated career has earned him #1 hits in over 20 countries, over 120 gold and platinum albums and singles awards for performing and producing around the world, and he has amassed over 40 million records sold.
His songs include rock ’n’ roll anthems “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet’, ‘American Woman’ and ‘ Takin’ Care of Business’ and have been recorded by numerous other artists and placed in dozens of television, movie and commercial soundtracks.
Noted for his contributions as an iconic Canadian rock musician and for his support of emerging Canadian artists as a producer, Bachman received Canada’s highest civilian honour for lifetime achievement, the Order of Canada, in 2008 and was also given the Order of Manitoba in 2005.
Born in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, Cochrane is best known for his hits “Life is a Highway”, “Big League” and “I Wish you Well” and has had a distinguished career, both as a solo artist and as front man for the group Red Rider.

He is one of the most decorated musicians in Canada and is a member of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. As well, he’s an Officer of the Order of Canada, has an Honorary Doctorate from Brandon University and is an Honorary Colonel in the Canadian Air Force. Last year, he was inducted onto the Canadian Walk of Fame.

The 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup will be held in Brandon from May 14-23, marking the first time in history that the 4-team Championship will be hosted in the province of Manitoba.

In addition to the two Saturday Night Socials, the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup will feature an Opening Banquet on Thursday, May 13th, a Golf Tournament at Clear Lake on May 20th as well as the Canadian Hockey League Awards Ceremony, set to take place on Saturday, May 22nd at the Westman Centennial Auditorium. Details for all remaining “ticketed” events will be announced in March.
