Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Jamie Benn of the Kelowna Rockets is the Boston Pizza CHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 26 after scoring five goals and four assists for nine points in three games finishing with a plus-1 plus-minus rating.

On Wednesday night in Chilliwack, Benn was named the first star of the game for scoring two goals and two assists in the 5-0 win over the Bruins. The Rockets and the Bruins would meet again Friday night where Benn continued his scoring ways netting two goals and one assist good for third star of the game honours in the 6-0 win. The Rockets hosted the Brandon Wheat Kings Saturday night with Benn contributing a goal and an assist in the 3-2 loss.

Benn, a 19-year-old from Victoria, BC is in his second WHL season with the Rockets and is currently tied for the league lead in goals scored with 12 and sits fourth in points with 23. Benn was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the fifth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Taylor Hall of the top ranked Windsor Spitfires was the OHL nominee for the award scoring four goals and five assists for nine points leading the Spitfires to three wins. The QMJHL nominee was forward Chris Doyle of the P.E.I. Rocket with two goals and six assists in four games this week for eight points.
