Dawson Creek/Fort St. John, BC – Team Canada White edged Sweden by a score of 2-1 in the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge while Team Canada Red and Team Canada White came up short. Here’s how the action unfolded.
Day 5 Recap
CANADA WHITE (2), SWEDEN (1)
Prince Albert Raiders prospect Ian Scott was productive in goal for Canada White as he stopped 24 shots to lift Canada White to a 2-1 win against Sweden in semi-final action.
Canada White edged Sweden in the shooting column 28-25 and advances to the gold medal game against Team Russia. Catch the game on Saturday night at 7:30pm MT on TSN2.

RUSSIA (3), CANADA RED (2) SO
Lethbridge Hurricanes prospect Jordan Bellerive and Moose Jaw Warriors prospect Josh Brook each scored first period goals for Canada Red but ultimately fell short as Russia prevailed 3-2 in a shootout.
Canada Red outshot Russia 52-33 in the defeat. Russia faces Canada White for the gold medal at 7:30pm MT Saturday on TSN2.

CZECH REPUBLIC (4), CANADA BLACK (2)
Tri-City Americans prospect Micahel Rasmussen and Brandon Wheat Kings prospect Stelio Mattheos provided goals for Canada Black in their 4-2 loss to Czech Republic.
Canada Black finished 1/3 on the power play while not taking a penalty in the loss. Czech Republic finishes the tournament seventh overall while CanadaBlack settled for eighth place.

FINLAND (5), UNITED STATES (4)
Portland Winterhawks prospect Scott Reedy continued to light the lamp as he scored twice for the United States but it was not enough as Finland skated away with a 5-4 win. The United States had to settle for a sixth place finish at the World U17 Hockey Challenge.
