NIKOLISHIN SCORES OVERTIME WINNER, REBELS BUCKLE WINTERHAWKS 4-3
Ivan Nikolishin potted the overtime winner to give the Red Deer Rebels a 4-3 edge over the Portland Winterhawks. Rebels alternate captain Haydn Fleury registered two points (1g-1a) as Red deer outshot Portland 43-34. Winterhawks defenceman Blake Heinrich was named the game’’ second star after scoring a pair of goals along with an assists in a losing cause.

The Medicine Hat Tigers scored twice in the second period and that was all they needed as they defeated the Swift Current Broncos by that 2-0 score. Nick Schneider put in a consistent performance for the Tigers in stopping all 34 shots to claim first star honours.
