WHL GRAD CROWLEY NAMED ATHLETE OF WEEK
WHL graduate player and defenceman for the University of Manitoba Bisons Dane Crwoley was named Canada West University Male Athlete of the Week.

Third-year defenceman Dane Crowley played an integral part as the Bison men’s hockey team continue to roll to begin the season as they hold a perfect 4-0-0 conference record after a sweep of the Alberta Golden Bears (2-1-1) during the Oct. 14-16 weekend, the first one by a conference team at Edmonton since 2007.
Crowley registered one goal and three assists and +3 plus/minus rating from the blue-line position. The third-year defenceman started the weekend with two assists and a +2 plus/minus rating and named Second Star in the 5-4 win on Friday, Oct. 14. The next night, Crowley notched the tying goal and assisting on the game-winner in a 2-1 (2OT) victory and also was named Third Star for his efforts.
Manitoba (4-0-0), ranked #3 in the new CIS national poll, holds its home opener against the Regina Cougars (0-4-0), Oct. 21-22 at the Max Bell Arena. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. both nights.
