WHL Power Rankings: Week Seven
Milestones! NHL contracts! Hat tricks! Shutouts! Streaks!
Week Seven of the WHL Power Rankings has it all…
1. Everett Silvertips
1st U.S.- 13-2-1-0
Everett is still sitting pretty at the top of the leaderboard with a 7-0-1-0 point streak.
The league-leading ‘Tips tamed the Wenatchee Wild (5-2) before falling to Tri-City (6-5) in overtime.
Top 2025 NHL Draft Prospect Carter Bear is still leading the charge with a tremendous two goals and four assists to sit third in the league in both goals and points while reigning WHL Goaltender of the Month Jesse Sanche has become the first netminder in the league to hit 10 wins this season.
But another U.S. Division team is hot on Everett’s heels…
2. Tri-City Americans
3rd U.S.- 10-3-1-0
Count ’em up.
Victories over Spokane (4-3) and Everett (6-5 OT) extended Tri-City’s monster win streak to nine straight games.
What’s even more impressive- four of those wins have come in overtime and another two were decided by a single goal.
Captain Jake Sloan scored the game-tying goal and overtime winner against Everett, newcomer Gavin Garland piled up five points in two games to claim WHL Rookie of the Week honours for the second time this season and Lukas Matecha earned Save of the Night in both of his outings this week.
I mean, come on:

Two impressive streaks are now at stake as the Ams and Silvertips gear up for a fierce rematch on Friday, November 8.
3. Prince George Cougars
1st B.C.- 9-4-3-2
The Cougars’ point streak is up to five games (3-0-1-1) after doubling up Kamloops (6-3) and falling just short against Saskatoon (5-4 OT) this week.
Los Angeles Kings prospect Koehn Ziemmer picked up back-to-back first-star performances after potting his first hat trick of the season against the Blazers and scoring another two versus the Blades. He’s now surpassed 100 career WHL goals to sit at 103.
Washington Capitals first-rounder Terik Parascak has also quietly gathered 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in his last seven games.
Prince George kicks off a five-game homestand with a pair of tilts against Vancouver this weekend- a tough task for the Giants, considering the Cougars are one of two clubs that have yet to lose in regulation on home ice.
The other team?
Glad you asked.
4. Saskatoon Blades
1st East- 11-3-1-1
Saskatoon’s sparkling 6-0-1-0 home record isn’t in danger anytime soon as the Blades continue a B.C. Division road trip.
The Eastern Conference leaders narrowly fell to Vancouver (7-6) and Victoria (5-4 SO) before eking out a comeback win against Prince George (5-4 OT) to kick off the roady.
Alternate captain Brandon Lisowsky and veteran Tyler Parr ate up opposing goaltenders this week as they combined for seven goals and six assists.
5. Spokane Chiefs
2nd U.S.- 11-7-0-0
A three-goal third period helped Spokane snap a two-game slide in a 4-2 win, but the Chiefs would split the rest of the week with a tight 4-3 loss to Tri-City and 6-5 win against Kelowna.
Clearly, scoring isn’t an issue for the dynamic squad.
Seattle Kraken prospect and Spokane captain Berkly Catton picked up a goal and dished seven assists to hit 201 career WHL points, while Shea Van Olm’s five-goal (including two-game winners), two-assist week has him sitting second in the WHL with 28 points in 18 games.
6. Vancouver Giants
3rd B.C.- 9-4-2-0
Big week for the G(oals)-men.
Vancouver closed out a perfect three-game homestand with high-scoring wins over Saskatoon (7-6) and Moose Jaw (6-2).
With a hat trick against the Warriors and another two goals versus Saskatoon, top 2025 NHL Draft prospect Cameron Schmidt is tied for second in the CHL in goals with 17 (Saginaw Spirit star Michael Misa is currently first with 18).
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Vancouver is one of the highest scoring teams in the WHL- they’re also humming along with the league’s best powerplay at 31%- but they’ll be going up against another top scoring team in Prince George this weekend.
7. Brandon Wheat Kings
3rd East- 8-4-1-1
Brandon only had one match this week, but it was *chef’s kiss* perfection.
Philadelphia Flyers prospect Carson Bjarnason pitched a 33-save shutout against the high-scoring Medicine Hat Tigers for his first clean sheet of the season and the sixth of his career to pick up WHL Goaltender of the Week honours.
The Carberry, Man. product currently leads all WHL goaltenders with a .924 save percentage, and backup Ethan Eskit is second with .922.
The Wheat Kings look to extend their 4-0-1-0 point streak against the Regina Pats at the Brandt Centre on Friday.
8. Lethbridge Hurricanes
1st Central- 9-5-1-0
The Hurricanes posted rare back-to-back losses against Calgary (5-3) and Red Deer (5-4) before snapping the skid with a monster 7-6 win against Medicine Hat.
Powerplay tallies from Kash Andresen and Logan Wormald helped spark four unanswered goals from the Canes in the 7-6 comeback victory.
At the same time, Toronto Maple Leafs prospect and captain Noah Chadwick notched four assists on the week.
Nashville Predators prospect Miguel Marques also currently owns one of the top point streaks in the league with six goals and 13 assists in his last nine outings.
9. Red Deer Rebels
2nd Central- 9-5-1-0
The Rebels are fighting hard to overtake Lethbridge for the Central Division lead- and key wins against the Hurricanes (5-4) and Calgary (3-2) have Red Deer tied for first in points.
Veteran Talon Brigley had a goal and assisted the game-winner to down Lethbridge, while Minnesota Wild prospect Chase Wutzke turned in a crazy 38-save effort to preserve the win over Calgary.
Wutzke is now 5-0-0-0 when facing 31 or more shots this season.
The Rebels will hit the road for a six-game trip through the U.S. Division, starting with the Wenatchee Wild on Friday.
10. Swift Current Broncos
2nd East- 10-6-0-0
Feel the Birn!
Swift Current’s Brady Birnie picked up Tempo WHL Player of the Week honours after putting up four goals and two assists in major divisional wins over Prince Albert (9-4) and Regina (4-2).
The 5-foot-8, 160-pound winger is on a hot streak that’s seen him pot 10 goals (including his first two WHL hat tricks) and eight assists for 18 points in eight straight games.
Kraken prospect and Swift Current ‘C’ Clarke Caswell is also heating up after his first career five-point night (two goals, three assists) against the Raiders.
11. Victoria Royals
2nd B.C.- 9-5-2-1
A busy week saw Victoria lose to Moose Jaw (6-2) and beat Saskatoon in a shootout (5-4) before dropping a pair of games to Kamloops.
Top 2025 NHL Draft prospect Cole Reschy helped the team to its lone win of the week with a furious two-goal third period to tie the Royals’ match against Saskatoon to force the eventual shootout.
Utah Hockey Club prospect Justin Kipkie also strung together five assists on the week- the team captain is now averaging a point per game with four goals and nine assists in 13 games.
San Jose Sharks draft pick Nate Misskey also pulled off the rare non-goalie Save of the Night!

12. Kamloops Blazers
4th B.C.- 8-8-1-0
Kamloops shook off a 6-3 loss to Prince George with back-to-back road wins against another B.C. Division rival in Victoria.
Hometown boy Jordan Keller played hero with two goals (including the overtime winner) and an assist to take down the Royals 4-3 before going off for another two goals and two assists in a 6-4 win the following night.
Detroit Red Wings prospect Emmitt Finnie added four goals and three assists of his own over the week to sit second on the team (behind draft-eligible Nathan Behm) in points with 24.
13. Edmonton Oil Kings
4th Central- 7-6-1-1
Edmonton closed out its U.S. Division road trip with a shootout win over Seattle (5-4) before stumbling against Wenatchee (7-3).
Still, the Oil Kings finished with a respectable seven of a possible 12 points on their southern voyage.
Projected 2025 first-round pick Blake Fiddler scored the late-game tying goal against the Thunderbirds to force extra time and alternate captain Gracyn Sawchyn is coming back to Edmonton with more than just a few more points under his belt.
The Oil Kings’ top scorer has signed his entry-level contract with the Florida Panthers after being selected in the second round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
14. Medicine Hat Tigers
3rd Central- 9-8-0-0
It was a whiplash week for the Tigers.
The Tabbies smoked Regina 10-5 before getting shutout by Brandon (3-0) and dropping a sizeable lead in a loss to Lethbridge (7-6).
Still, Medicine Hat is a lot of fun to watch.
Superstar Gavin McKenna tallied his second (!!) career six-point night with two goals and four assists against Regina and added another three points against Lethbridge.
The top 2026 NHL Draft prospect leads the WHL with 32 points and is tied with 2025 NHL prospect Porter Martone (Brampton Steelheads) for first in the CHL points race.
Hunter St. Martin has also been on a tear with six goals and one helper in his last three games after signing his entry-level deal with Florida.
St. Martin and Sawchyn will go head-to-head in a Panthers prospect battle on Friday.
15. Calgary Hitmen
5th Central- 6-6-2-1
Rylan Ng might just be the feel-good story of the Hitmen season.
After making the team out of camp as a 16-year-old, Ng scored the game-opening goal and picked up an assist against his hometown Hurricanes as Calgary slapped Lethbridge with its first regulation home loss of the year.
Naturally, the youngster was named first star of the night.
Ng scored his third of the campaign in Calgary’s next outing against Red Deer, though the Rebels would prevail 3-2.
16. Kelowna Rockets
5th B.C.- 5-7-0-1
Kelowna came out on the wrong side of a back-and-forth, high-scoring tilt against the Spokane Chiefs (6-5) in the team’s lone match of the week.
Washington Capitals prospect Andrew Cristall is still finding the back of the net at a feverish pace.
His goal and three assists against Spokane have brought him up to 300 career WHL points.
The Rockets alternate captain also leads the league in points-per-game (2.86) with six goals and 14 assists in seven games.
