The WHL Stars of Tomorrow series highlights the biggest and brightest prospects on the cusp of becoming household names in the Western Hockey League.

This series will focus on U15 players as they navigate their WHL draft-eligible season, with player comparisons and reports from WHL scouts from around the league.

JACOB SCHWARTZ – FORWARD – LEFT SHOT

VANCOUVER, BC – 5’9 – 150 lbs

“Jacob is a good skater who brings the same effort every game. Has a quick release shot that he uses often to score. Skates well and goes to hard areas.”

WHL PLAYER COMPARISON

MATTHEW SAVOIE (Moose Jaw Warriors / Buffalo Sabres)

“Jacob Schwartz is a talented forward who plays with a lot of pace and skill. What separates Jacob from some of the other skilled forwards at the top end of the draft is his compete level and motor. Jacob is able to get in on the forecheck and be disruptive to the opposition. He is also able to make plays at full speed, something that is often a challengefor players in this age group. Jacob reminds me a lot of Mathew Savoie in terms of play style. The two are similar in size and stature, and both have the ability to make skilled plays at a high pace. I also think Mathew is a competitor who can forecheck and cause turnovers, something that Jacob utilizes in his game.”
