Prince George Cougars mourn passing of Gary Samis
Prince George, B.C.- Out of respect to the Samis family, the Prince George Cougars Hockey Club has waited to release the following statement on a beloved colleague:
The entire Cougars family is deeply devastated to announce the sudden passing of Gary Samis. Gary was an integral part of our organization for the last eight years in his role as Chairperson for the Prince George Cougars Alumni Hospital Charity Golf Tournament and becoming the Cougars’ Corporate Sales Manager. He was also instrumental in launching the Prince George Cougars Alumni Association.
It’s hard to put into words the positive impact he had on our community. Like many, we’re struggling to cope with his loss, and will have more to say about his legacy in the coming days.
We send our deepest condolences to his wife Theresa, children Allyson and Ryan, and his entire family.
