WHL Playoffs on Shaw: Raiders Clash with Warriors

CALGARY, AB – Brayden Point and the Moose Jaw Warriors take on Reid Gardiner and the Prince Albert Raiders for Game 1 of their Round 1 match-up, live on SHAW and Shaw HD channel 304 at (7:00pm MT/6:00pm PT).

The Moose Jaw Warriors wrapped up the regular season with a 3-1 victory over the Swift Current Broncos on home ice to finish with a 36-27-7-2 record. Moose Jaw Warriors team captain Brayden Point had a strong season as he amassed 88 points (35g-53a) and a plus-24 rating in only 48 games played. His teammate Dryden Hunt had a terrific season as he finished first in the League in scoring with 58 goals and 116 points. The Moose Jaw Warriors are productive on special teams as their power play ranked eighth in the League, converting 22.5% of the time while their penalty killing finished seventh overall with a 79.8% success rate.

The Prince Albert Raiders earned home-ice advantage in this series after earning second place in the East Division standings with a record of 38-26-7-1. Reid Gardiner led the Club with 43 goals and finished eighth overall amongst all WHL skaters with 92 points while defenceman Jesse Lees scored the second-most goals amongst WHL blue liners with 23. The Raiders own a 22-1-2-1 record when leading after two periods of play this season.

The Warriors won the regular season series against the Raiders as they claimed victories in six of their eight head-to-head meetings. Warriors forwards Dryden Hunt and Brayden Point each tallied 15 points while Raiders teammates Reid Gardiner and Jordan Tkatch each collected seven points in prior meetings between the two Clubs.
