CALGARY, AB – Dillon Dube and the Kelowna Rockets host Carter Hart and the Everett Silvertips in a battle between first place Clubs, live on SHAW and Shaw HD channel 304 at (8:00pm MT/7:00pm PT).
The Kelowna Rockets enter the match-up first place in the B.C. Division and in the Western Conference Standings with a record of 28-10-2-0. The defending WHL Champions look to maintain their position as the top Club in the League but face-off against a stingy Silvertips squad that has given up the fewest goals against in the WHL. Rockets forward Dillon Dube is in the midst of a fine season with Kelowna as he has amassed 39 points (17g-22a) to sit second in team scoring. Special teams continue to play a role in the Rockets’ success as their power play unit ranks seventh overall with a 21.9% execution rate while the penalty kill sits ninth overall with an 81.0% success rate.
Carter Hart and the Everett Silvertips surge into Kelowna on a three-game winning streak and have won seven of their past 10 contests overall. Hart is enjoying an outstanding season for the Silvertips as he leads all WHL goaltenders in many major categories including a 1.97 goals against average, a .925 save percentage and six shutouts. The Sherwood Park, AB native is also second in victories, having posted 21 and was named the WHL Goaltender of the Month for November. Everett heads into the tilt with the best road record amongst Western Conference Clubs, having posted an 11-6-0-1 record thus far.
Everett has won both head-to-head match-ups this season when the two Clubs met for a home-and-home set on December 30th and January 1st. The Silvertips have limited the Rockets potent offence to only two goals in those two games.
