Steven Owre registered two goals and an assist as the Medicine Hat Tigers edged the Calgary Hitmen by a 5-4 margin Friday.
A second period goal from Mason Shaw stood as the eventual game-winner.
Brad Forrest and Tyler Preziuso also scored for the Tigers. Jakob Stukel and Andrei Grishakov each replied twice for the Hitmen.
Nick Schneider made 36 saves for his 31st win of the season.

The Everett Silvertips scored three unanswered goals to collect a 4-1 win over the Portland Winterhawks Friday night.
Dominic Zwerger broke a 1-1 tie with a power-play goal late in the first period to give Everett a 2-1 lead. Jake Christiansen and Noah Juulsen added insurance, while Patrick Bajkov opened the scoring.
Joachim Blichfeld responded for Portland.

Kole Lind collected four points, including three assists, as the Kelowna Rockets thumped the Kamloops Blazers by an 8-2 margin Friday.
The Rockets scored used eight different players to score eight consecutive markers, blowing Friday’s contest out of the water.
Garrett Pilon opened the scoring for Kamloops, then Kelowna took off.
Rodney Southam, Tomas Soustal, Nick Merkley, Lucas Johansen, Kole Lind, Dillon Dube, Reid Gardiner and Carsen Twarynski scored for the Rockets before Luc Smith added a second for the Blazers late in the proceedings.
Michael Herringer made 23 saves for his 26th win of the season.
The win pulled Kelowna within three points of the Blazers for second in the B.C. Division. The Rockets own two games in hand on Kamloops.

Josh Paterson opened the scoring before Curtis Miske tied the game for the Raiders. Then it was Braylon Shmyr and Libor Hajek notching the next two tallies, giving the Blades the 3-1 win.
The win boosts the Blades into a tie with the Calgary Hitmen for the second and final wild card seed in the Eastern Conference. Calgary holds one game in hand on Saskatoon.
