WHL Playoffs on Shaw: Rockets Seek to Even Series with Royals
CALGARY, AB – Tyson Baillie and the Kelowna Rockets look to even the series up against Chaz Reddekopp and the Victoria Royals in Game 4 of their Round 2 match-up Thursday night, live on SHAW HD channel 304 at (8:00pm MT/7:00pm PT).
Baillie and the Kelowna Rockets picked up their first win of the series on Tuesday night in Kelowna as they skated to a 3-2 victory. Baillie has registered six points in the post-season thus far (2g-4a) and a plus-3 rating while Rourke Chartier leads the Club with eight points, including three points (1g-2a) in the Rockets’ Game 3 victory. The defending WHL Champions have demonstrated an effective penalty kill with a success rate of 81.4% and are using grit and determination to potentially extend the series.
The Victoria Royals would love nothing more than to collect a win in Game 4 and give themselves an opportunity to close out the series on home ice in Game 5. Reddekopp has tallied three assists while playing in all nine playoff games. His teammate Jack Walker leads the Club in goals with seven and in points with 13. Special teams have impacted the Royal’s success in the post-season as they have collected eight power play markers at a 2.2% execution rate.
All three games of this series have been determined by one goal. The Royals won the 2015-16 regular season series with the Kelowna Rockets as they took five out of eight match-ups. Royals’ rookie forward Matthew Phillips amassed 16 points (5g-11a) to lead all skaters in the Clubs’ prior head-to-head meetings while Rockets’ forward Justin Kirkland tallied seven points (4g-3a) to lead all Kelowna skaters.
