Moose Jaw, Brandon round out Eastern Conference playoff matchups
The Eastern Conference playoff picture is set.
The Moose Jaw Warriors (3) and Brandon Wheat Kings (6) will meet in Round One of the 2024 WHL Playoffs.
Brandon sealed a sixth-place finish with a 3-2 win over Regina combined with a 3-2 Lethbridge loss to Medicine Hat in overtime.
The Warriors, who sit second in the East Division, went 4-3-0-1 against the Wheat Kings this season, with four of the meetings decided by a single goal and two requiring overtime or a shootout.
This will be the first time these teams have met in the postseason since Brandon earned a convincing 4-1 second-round win over Moose Jaw en route to the Wheat Kings’ 2016 Ed Chynoweth Cup win.
Puck drops on the series on Friday, March 29 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
The battle will move east to Westoba Place for Game 3 on Wednesday, April 3.
