Lind added to Hockey Canada WJC Development Camp roster
Kelowna Rockets forward Kole Lind is set to make a run at representing Canada at the 2018 World Junior Championships.
The 18-year-old right wing will join teammates Cal Foote and Dillon Dube when they attend the Sport Chek Development Camp in Plymouth, MI this summer in preparation for the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championships taking place in Buffalo, NY in late December.
Lind was added to the invite list days after he and Foote were drafted by NHL clubs. Foote was selected 14th overall in the NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning and Lind was taken 33rd overall by the Vancouver Canucks.
The Shaunavon, Sask. product had a breakout season with the Rockets, leading the club in scoring with 87 points (30 goals, 57 assists in 70 games) and finishing 15th in league scoring. He also added six goals and six assists for 12 points in 17 post-season games. Lind was also a key cog in the Rockets power play throughout the year.
Lind will try to add his name to a lengthy list of WHL players to represent their countries at the WJC.
A total of 66 WHL players were selected to participate in Hockey Canada’s Summer Showcase, which begins later this month.
