Cougars, Rockets to meet in Second Round of 2024 WHL Playoffs presented by Nutrien
For the third time in WHL history, Prince George and Kelowna will clash in the playoffs.
The Western Conference Semifinal tilt was confirmed after the Rockets eliminated the Wenatchee Wild in six games and the Everett Silvertips ended Vancouver’s run in Game 5 on Sunday, April 5.
The Cougars and Rockets were the two top-scoring B.C. Division teams in the 2023-24 regular season.
Prince George owned a 6-1-0-1 record against Kelowna, though six of the games were decided by a single goal and three required overtime or a shootout.
This will be the first time the teams have met since the Rockets swept the Cougars in the 2011 postseason. Prince George defeated Kelowna 4-1 in their only other playoff meeting in 2000.
The series gets underway on Friday, April 12 at the CN Centre Centre.
