Cougars acquire Griffin from Raiders
The Prince Albert Raiders and Prince George Cougars came together on a Thursday trade, sending forward Davin Griffin to the B.C.’s interior. In exchange, the Raiders have acquired a conditional seventh-round Western Hockey League Bantam Draft selection.
“Davin is an offensive player that has a track record of scoring at the bantam and midget levels,” Mark Lamb, Cougars’ General Manager and Head Coach said. “We needed to add to our 2002-born age group, and he is that piece we were looking for.”
Griffin, a 5-foot-9, 139-pound product of Regina, Sask. has appeared in 82 games with the Saskatoon Midget AAA Contacts. During his two years in the Saskatchewan Midget Hockey League (SMHL), the 2002-born player recorded 81 points (43G-38A).
Originally, Griffin was selected by the Raiders at the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft in the fifth round, 100th overall.
The Raiders have completed a trade with the Prince George Cougars.
