Blades defenceman Siepmann commits to University of Minnesota Duluth
Saskatoon Blades defenceman Grayden Siepmann has declared his commitment to the University of Minnesota Duluth.
The 20-year-old will join the Bulldogs for the 2025-26 season after finishing his WHL eligibility.
“Excited to announce my commitment to the University of Minnesota Duluth,” Siepmann announced on his social media. “Looking forward to the new opportunity, and I am grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way!”
Siepmann has three goals and 19 assists for 22 points in 33 games with the East Division-leading Blades.
The 5-foot-11, 181-pound blueliner was drafted 13th overall by the Calgary Hitmen in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft.
He played parts of four seasons with the Hitmen before being acquired by the Blades in 2023-24.
Siepmann has tallied 21 goals and 88 assists for 109 points in 237 regular season games.
The Langley, B.C. product helped Saskatoon put up its first 50-win season in 13 years and clinch the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as the 2023-24 Regular Season Champions.
He added another goal and eight assists for nine points and a +7 rating as the Blades reached Game 7 of the 2024 Eastern Conference Championship.
Saskatoon (19-10-2-2) is tied with the Medicine Hat Tigers for the Eastern Conference lead coming out of the holiday break.
The Blades travel north to face the rival Prince Albert Raiders (17-11-3-0) on Monday, December 30 at 7:00 p.m. ST.
