Americans tab Serraglio as 34th captain in Club history
Defenceman Alex Serraglio has been named the new captain of the Tri-City Americans.
The Club made the announcement Friday.
Serraglio, a product of Langley, B.C., has made 143 regular season appearances in an Americans sweater; he skated in all 68 contests in 2022-23, recording 25 points (4G-21A) along the way.
The 20-year-old was originally signed by Tri-City in March of 2021.
As Americans captain, Serraglio succeeds fellow blueliner Marc Lajoie, who was dealt to the Edmonton Oil Kings this past May.
He will be joined in Tri-City’s leadership group by alternate captains Lukas Dragicevic, Tyson Greenway, Jake Sloan and Ethan Peters.
Serraglio will begin his tenure as Americans captain Saturday, September 30 when Tri-City visits the Spokane Chiefs (6:05 p.m. PT, Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena).
