Americans acquire Bishop from Royals for draft pick
The Tri-City Americans have acquired defenceman Anthony Bishop (1998) from the Victoria Royals in exchange for an eighth-round selection in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.
“With the team being down to 6 healthy defense and two long term injuries to Liam Belcourt and Daniel Gatenby, it was necessary to acquire some veteran depth to the blue line,” said Bob Tory, general manager of the Americans. “Anthony is entering his third season in the league and we look forward to him joining our team.”
Bishop was originally acquired by the Royals in a trade with the Seattle Thunderbirds this past summer.
A native of Kelowna, BC, Bishop played in four games for Victoria this season and recorded one assist.
