This Week in WHL History:
- The Victoria Cougars recorded their 60th win of the season on Mar, 24, 1981 as Victoria defeated the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-1; the Cougars are the only Club in WHL history to achieve 60 wins in a season
- Portland Winter Hawk’s defenceman Jim Benning picked up a point for the 45th consecutive game on Mar. 25, 1981 and he netted 95 points in total over that streak; it is the fourth longest point scoring streak in WHL history
- Colin Sinclair’s heroics in quadruple overtime ended the longest game in WHL history at 136 minutes and 56 seconds on Mar. 25, 2003; the Kootenay ICE prevailed over the Kamloops Blazers 3-2 in that game and the ICE won the series in six games including three overtime victories
- Craig Cunningham scored the winner in triple overtime to lift the Vancouver Giants to a 4-3 victory over the Chilliwack Bruins on Mar. 25, 2008; it stands as the fifth longest game in WHL history at 119 minutes and 13 seconds

- Alfie Turcotte of the Portland Winter Hawks notched a playoff record-tying eight points (4g-4a) in a 13-4 win over the Seattle Breakers on Mar. 26, 1983
- Brandon Wheat Kings forward Dave Chartier tallied five goals and eight points in a 13-4 triumph over the Regina Pats on Mar. 27, 1981; Chartier is tied for most goals and points in a single playoff game
- On Mar. 28, 1994, Jason Clague became the only goaltender to score a goal in the playoffs; Clague was credited for a goal that ended up as the game-winner in the Red Deer Rebels’ 4-2 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes
- On Mar. 28, 2007, Devin Setoguchi of the Prince George Cougars potted the game-winner for the third consecutive game and his second overtime winner in that span; the Cougars swept the close series against the Kamloops Blazers as all four games were decided by one goal with three ending in overtime
- The Calgary Hitmen were on the verge of elimination in the first round and down 3-1 in the series against the Moose Jaw Warriors; the Hitmen rallied to win three straight games including a 6-2 win on Mar. 29, 2010 to complete the comeback
