Wheat Kings Hold Off Rebels 4-2
The Brandon Wheat Kings held off the Red Deer Rebels in Game 4 of the WHL Eastern Conference Championship by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday night at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer, AB.
After suffering a big 6-2 loss on Tuesday night, Tim McGauley and the Wheat Kings responded with a solid effort to grab the win and a 3- 1 series lead.
Grayson Pawlenchuk surprised the Wheat Kings as he took advantage of a turnover and gave the Rebels an early 1-0 lead.

The Brandon Wheat Kings replied as team captain Macoy Erkamps gathered his own rebound and ripped it by Rylan Toth to tie the game at 1-1.

John Quenneville recorded his 12th goal of the playoffs to give Brandon a 2-1 lead through 20 minutes of play.

The Wheat Kings pounded 18 shots on goal in the middle frame compared to only seven for Red Deer but both Clubs went scoreless.
Just 17 seconds into the third period, Jake DeBrusk snapped home his seventh of the post-season on a Rebels power play. The game was tied at two goals apiece.

As the Rebels pressed for the tying goal late, it was Tanner Kaspick that iced the game for Brandon with an empty netter.

Shots on goal favoured Brandon 43-36 in the contest. Brandon finished 0/3 on the power play while Red Deer scored on their lone power play opportunity. Game 5 of the WHL Eastern Conference Championship goes Friday night at 7:30pm CT/6:30pm MT. Brandon lead the series 3-1.
