Wheat Kings Hand Out Hardware
Brandon, MB – The Brandon Wheat Kings held their annual Awards Night on Tuesday at Westoba Place.
Fifteen awards were handed out, capped off with the Brad McCrimmon Memorial Trophy for top defenseman.
This was the first awards celebration for the hockey club since the 2019 season.

Maggie Janz Memorial Award | Presented by Bob Janz & Glenda Zelmer
This award is given to the player who excels not only on the ice but in the classroom.

McDonalds Community Minded Award | Presented by Melissa Young & Jason Ammer
This award is given to the player who commits time and effort to community initiatives over the course of the season.

Mike Adamski, Mazergroup Hardest Working Player Award | Presented by Mark Adamski & Candace Bowles
This award is named in memory of long time Wheat Kings P.A Announcer and Neelin High School Principal Mike Adamski and is given to the player deemed to be the hardest worker on and off the ice.

Keystone Centre Most Sportsmanlike Player Award | Presented by Jeff Schumacher
This award is given to the player exemplifies class and sportsmanship throughout the season.

Precision Toyota Unsung Hero Award | Presented by Scott and Jett Ball
This award is voted on by the coaching staff and is awarded to the player who may not get the accolades on the scoresheet or in the media, but is a respected leader and hard working player every night.

This award is given to the top player born in Manitoba.

Rob Stouffer Memorial Trophy | Presented by Scott Hlady
This award is given to the Most Inspirational Player and is named in honour of long time Wheat Kings trainer Rob Stouffer who lost his battle with cancer in 2008.

Dennis Truscott Memorial Trophy | Presented by Mark Derlago
This award is given to the team’s Most Improved Player and is named in honour of long time Wheat King Dennis Truscott.

This award is presented to the Wheat King with the most points during the regular season
