MORE LICENSE PLATES ON THE WAY
Brandon, MB. – Western Manitoba hockey fans are encouraged to show off their Brandon Wheat Kings’ colours this upcoming season as the defending Western Hockey League Champions celebrate their 50th Anniversary in the league.
With continuing high demand for Wheat Kings’ license plates, the hockey club has worked with Manitoba Public Insurance to ensure that a large stock of plates is available immediately at more than 300 broker locations and MPI Service Centres across Manitoba. These plates are available for eligible passenger vehicles, light trucks and motorcycles.
The Wheat King plates are sold for $70 each, with $30 from each sale being donated to the Brandon Humane Society. The balance going to the cost of production.
Manitobans looking to show their Wheat Kings’ pride can purchase a specialty plate for themselves or as a gift to someone, as long as the gift recipient has a qualifying active policy with Manitoba Public Insurance. If you already own a different specialty plate, fans can still purchase a Wheat Kings’ plate and change throughout the year at no additional charge.
The Wheat Kings, who captured their first WHL Title in twenty years when they beat the Seattle Thunderbirds last May, will open the 2016-17 regular season with a home and home weekend series with the Moose Jaw Warriors during the weekend of September 23rd-24th.
ABOUT THE BRANDON HUMANE SOCIETY: The Brandon Humane Society is not government funded. It functions strictly on the donations of the community. The Brandon Humane Society is a no-kill shelter so the animals are safe and cared for until they find their forever home, no matter how long that takes.
