Silvertips Skate All Over Regina

Tonight at the Agridome in Regina, Saskatchewan the Everett Silvertips skated away with a 5-1 victory over the Regina Pats. Everett’s current record against the Pats is now 2-0.

The Silvertips played a very solid game starting it off in the first period. Veterans Ivan Baranka and Shaun Heshka put one a piece on the board, both during power plays. After a scoreless second period the Silvertips stepped it up and put in three unanswered goals against the Regina goaltender. First it was Tyler Dietrich with an unassisted goal. Then Curtis Billsten and Torrie Wheat finished the tally.

Once again the team chipped in and many players contributed to the victory over Regina tonight. Billsten, Wheat and Dietrich not only scored goals in play tonight but also each had an assist a piece. Also helping out were Zach Hamill, Mark Kress, Ryan Blatchford and two newcomers, Alex Leavitt and Kyle Annesley. In between the pipes was Leland Irving, who made a great stand and stopped 23 of 24 shots.

The Silvertips end their Eastern Conference Road Trip with a final record of 4-1, the only loss coming from the Moose Jaw Warriors. Their record moves to 11-6-2-2 and the Silvertips are now on a two game winning streak. They are currently tied with Seattle for first place in the US Division with 26 points.

Everett is back in action on Wednesday November 17th against the Spokane Chiefs in Spokane, WA. The puck drops at 7:00pm. The next home games are Friday, November 19th against the Portland Winterhawks and Saturday, November 20th against the Tri-City Americans.
