TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
The Silvertips start a four-game homestand tonight with their second meeting of the season against the Tri-City Americans. Last season, the Silvertips went 5-2-0-3 in the head-to-head series and are 14-6-0-4 in the last five seasons, head-to-head in Everett. The Silvertips are continuing a stretch of playing six times at home in the next eight games and are 9-2-0-1 at XFINITY Arena this season.
HEAD-TO-HEAD: TILT WITH TRI-CITY
The Silvertips carry a lifetime record of 53-44-17 against the Americans since the series first began in 2003-04 and are 29-16-6 all-time at XFINITY Arena. Tonight’s game is the second meeting of the season between the teams, who will meet again Dec. 11 in Kennewick to open a four-game road trip. The Silvertips won the last matchup, 5-0 at XFINITY Arena on Nov. 25 behind Carter Hart’s fifth shutout of the season. Tri-City is led by head coach Mike Williamson and reached the postseason last year with a record of 31-38-0-3. Among the notable Americans alum who have reached the NHL are Carey Price, Clayton Stoner, Olaf Kolzig, Stu Barnes, Scott Gomez, and Sheldon Souray.

EVT 5 – SPO 1 (11/29/15): Remi Laurencelle scored two goals and added an assist while eight of his teammates recorded a point to help the Everett Silvertips win their third game in a row and bury the Spokane Chiefs in a 5-1 victory before 4,077 fans at Spokane Arena on Sunday night. Laurencelle, earning his fifth multi-goal game and seventh goal in the last four games, capped a run of five unanswered goals by the Silvertips. Carter Hart registered his 14th win of the season with 25 saves while Dario Winkler recorded an assist, filling in with top line duty in the absence of injured captain Dawson Leedahl.
EVT 5 – MJ 0 (11/27/15): Carter Hart only needed to make 14 saves for his 10th career WHL shutout in 64 regular season and postseason games, while Remi Laurencelle and Graham Millar each scored twice to help the Everett Silvertips hammer the Moose Jaw Warriors in a 5-0 victory before a crowd of 5,278 at XFINITY Arena on Friday. The Silvertips won their sixth consecutive home game, shutting out an opponent on home ice for the third straight game. Hart earned his sixth shutout of the season, and Laurencelle, earning his fifth goal in three games, recorded his fourth multi goal game of the season.
EVT 5 – TC 0 (11/25/15): Remi Laurencelle scored twice, eight other teammates hit the scoresheet and Carter Hart recorded his ninth career shutout in a 5-0 blowout victory for the Everett Silvertips over the visiting Tri-City Americans at XFINITY Arena on Wednesday night. The Silvertips snapped a three-game winless skid while Hart recorded his second straight shutout at home and over Tri-City (he made 21 saves in a 1-0 win, last meeting in March 2015). Hart outdueled United States World Junior prospect Evan Sarthou, shelled with four goals on 34 shots. Everett improved to 12-2-0 over Tri-City since the beginning of the 2013-14 season, when Kevin Constantine returned behind the bench as head coach.
UNDER LOCK AND KEY
The Silvertips defense leads the WHL with 1.9 goals allowed per game … Everett has allowed two goals or less in 17 of the first 22 games … the Silvertips are the only team to earn a shutout against Seattle this season … the Silvertips have allowed just seven goals in the first period, fewest in the WHL … Everett’s 27.0 shots allowed per game are fourth in the WHL … the Silvertips are 8-2-0-1 when tied after one period and are a combined 13-1-0-2 when either tied or leading after two periods … every defenseman on the Silvertips roster is +1 or better, combining for a +34 rating.
SILVERTIP COUNTRY GONE GLOBAL
The Silvertips have been involved this year with the following international competition:
- Assistant coach Mitch Love, gold medal for Hockey Canada as assistant coach for the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge
- Defenseman Noah Juulsen has been named to the roster for Hockey Canada’s Selection Camp for the 2016 World Junior Championships (Dec. 10-14 in Toronto)
- Forward Dario Winkler, named to Team Austria for the World Junior Championship roster (Division-1, Group-A)
- Goaltender Carter Hart (draft eligible in 2016) and Juulsen (first round selection of Montreal, 2015) represented the Tips and the WHL for Hockey Canada in the 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series – Juulsen scored a goal in the Monday game, and followed up with a +3 rating the next night.
- Hart, Juulsen skated in the inaugural Hockey Canada Summer Showcase
- Hart earned a gold medal in the 2015 Under-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup tournament
HART HAULS HONORS
Goaltender Carter Hart earned the CHL Goaltender of the Week award, the WHL Goaltender of the Month (November) award and his second WHL Goaltender of the Week award of the season this week … during the month of November he was 9-2-0-1 and led the league with a 1.16 goals-against-average, in addition to a .951 save percentage and four shutouts … he has posted a 39-16-5-5 record with ten shutouts in 65 career WHL regular season and playoff appearances … eligible for the 2016 NHL Entry Draft and was recently named to the NHL Central Scouting Service’s “Players to Watch” list (B) in November … AMONG THE WHL LEADERS: 1st in goals against average (1.61), tied for first in wins (14), 1st in shutouts (6) and first in save percentage (.939).
HART OF STONE
Silvertips goaltender Carter Hart, entering his second full season of play in the WHL, ranks among the league’s leader in several goaltending categories since beginning his career with the Silvertips. Entering tonight, Hart is the leader in WHL goals-against-average for the last two seasons.

ALUMNI UPDATE: JUJHAR KHAIRA
Center Jujhar Khaira (KAIR-ah, JOO-jar) made his NHL debut last Saturday with the Edmonton Oilers at Consol Energy Center, in a 3-2 shootout victory over the host Pittsburgh Penguins. Khaira recorded three hits, a blocked shot and one shot on goal in 10:02 of ice time for Edmonton, suiting up in jersey #54. The 6-foot-3, 214-pound forward is the 15th player (2013-14), all-time to suit up for the Silvertips in 13 seasons and make his NHL debut. He joins Byron Froese (Toronto) as two former Silvertips to make their NHL debut this season.
STUCKY CELEBRATES A MILESTONE:
Silvertips equipment manager James Stucky worked the 1,500th game in his career on Oct. 28 vs. Brandon. The native of Burien, Wash. has served the Silvertips in his capacity since the inception of the franchise in 2003, having previously worked in the American Hockey League with Cincinnati, in the IHL with Indianapolis and in the CHL with Memphis from 1995-2003. He was honored last Friday night with a pre-game ceremonial puck drop.
THE KEVIN CONSTANTINE FILE
Kevin Constantine returns for his seventh season overall as head coach of the Silvertips, ranking as the club’s all-time leader in wins (258) and posting a record of 258-147-50 in his Everett career. All four of the Silvertips’ division titles have been achieved with Constantine as head coach, most recently last season which was Everett’s first since 2006-07. He was the recipient of the Dunc McCallum Trophy (WHL Coach of the Year) in 2003-04, when the Silvertips broke nearly every WHL expansion record and became the first expansion team in WHL history to win a division title. Constantine has coached in the NHL over the course of seven seasons with San Jose, Pittsburgh and New Jersey, helping guide all three clubs to an appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
