Chris Shaw enters his first season with the Silvertips, having been hired prior to the 2022-23 campaign. Shaw joins the Silvertips by way of the Vancouver NW Hawks AAA program, where he served in both head coach and general manager responsibilities for their U18, U17, U16 and U15 teams from 2018 through 2022. Prior to Vancouver, he worked as associate coach for the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL for two seasons from 2016-18. He also was general manager/head coach of the Ontario Avalanche in the Western States Hockey League for three seasons, as well as coaching with the Vernon Vipers (BCHL), Nelson Leafs (KIJHL), Penticton Lakers (KIJHL) and Alberni Valley Bulldogs (BCHL).
Shaw enjoyed a five-year professional hockey career, with 214 career games spread across the CHL, UHL, ECHL and SPHL. He played his junior hockey in the BCHL with the Burnaby Bulldogs, Prince George Spruce Kings, Victoria Salsa and Trail Smoke Eaters.
