TRANSACTION // Tips get 3rd rounder from SEA for G Lyda
EVERETT, Wash. – The Everett Silvertips, proud member of the Western Hockey League, and general manager Garry Davidson announced today that the team has acquired a third round selection in the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for goaltender Blake Lyda.
Lyda, a 2002-born goaltender, made his WHL debut with the Silvertips in 2017-18 and went 0-1-1 in three games, along with a 3.24 goals-against-average and .896 save percentage. The 6-foot-1, 150-pound goaltender earned 32 saves and an overtime loss to Tri-City in his first game as an “affiliated player” call-up, and most recently went 0-1-1-1 in three preseason games in 2018-19 with a 4.75 goals-against-average and .867 save percentage.
Lyda was originally a fourth round selection of the Silvertips (86th overall) in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.
