LAST TIME OUT:
EVT 2 – TC 6 (4-10-21): – The Everett Silvertips had their first multiple goal loss of the season as they dropped a 6-2 decision to the Tri-City Americans on April. 10th at the Toyota Center. Backup goaltender Braden Holt got the start and had a rough outing as Dustin Wolf entered the game in relief after Holt gave up three goals in eight shots. Tri-City had six different skaters find the back of the net, including two short-handed markers from Edge Lambert and Samuel Ho. Silvertips forwards Cole Fonstad and Gage Goncalves scored a goal each in a losing effort. The Silvertips remain in first place in the US Division standings.

1) HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF: Tips goaltender Dustin Wolf – the recipient of the WHL Goaltender of the Month award for March – ranks among the WHL leaders in the following categories: 4th in goals against average (1.46), 2nd in save percentage (0.949), tied for 1st in shutouts (3) … he has 23 career shutouts, moving into 2nd on the WHL and Silvertips all-time list, ahead of Leland Irving and Seattle’s Bryan Bridges. He is three behind the league record shared by former teammate Carter Hart and Vancouver’s Tyson Sexsmith. Wolf broke the team’s franchise record for longest shutout streak of 195:12 on Mar. 26th @ POR, surpassing Carter Hart in franchise history for longest stretch without allowing a goal.
2) THE DEFENSE NEVER RESTS: Even with allowing six goals vs. the Tri-City Americans on Apr. 10th, the Silvertips blue line unit has been outstanding all season long as the club has only given up 19 goals against in 11 contests. Defensive leaders Olen Zellweger and Gianni Fairbrother have impressive numbers on both ends of the score sheet midway through the 2020-21 season. Zellweger has amassed 13 points (2g-11a) and a plus-5 rating in while Fairbrother has recorded 13 points as well (1g-12a) to go along with a plus-7 rating.
3) FUN WITH FONSTAD: Team captain Cole Fonstad scored a goal in the Silvertips’ 6-2 loss to Tri-City on Apr. 10th, giving him goals in seven of his last nine games. He now has 264 points for his WHL career and presently leads the club with 17 points (7g-10a) to go along with a stellar plus-11 mark.
