EVT 6 – POR 4 (4-6-21): – The Everett Silvertips gave up more than two goals in a game for the first time this season, including three in the first period to the visiting Portland Winterhawks, however the offence roared the club back with three third period goals ti knock off the Winterhawks 6-4. Down by a goal midway through the third period, Silvertips forward Hunter Campbell scored his fourth of the season on a Tips power play to tie the score at four goals apiece. Ben Hemmerling netted the eventual game winner with 3:08 left in the third period to secure the victory for Everett and improve their unbeaten record on home ice to 6-0-0-0. Team captain Cole Fonstad had a great outing with four points (1g-3a) while Gage Concalves and defenseman Gianni Fairbrother each registered three points.

1) HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF: Tips goaltender Dustin Wolf – the recipient of the WHL Goaltender of the Month award for March – ranks among the WHL leaders in the following categories: 4th in goals against average (1.12), 3rd in save percentage (0.961), tied for 1st in shutouts (3) … he has 23 career shutouts, moving into 2nd on the WHL and Silvertips all-time list, ahead of Leland Irving and Seattle’s Bryan Bridges. He is three behind the league record shared by former teammate Carter Hart and Vancouver’s Tyson Sexsmith. Wolf broke the team’s franchise record for longest shutout streak of 195:12 on Mar. 26th @ POR, surpassing Carter Hart in franchise history for longest stretch without allowing a goal.
2) THE DEFENSE NEVER RESTS: The Silvertips blue line unit has been outstanding through the first third of the season. Gianni Fairbrother has recorded 12 points (1g-11a) to go along with a plus-9 rating. Ronan Seeley and Olen Zellweger have been consistent on both ends of the score sheet, with Zellweger amassing 9 points and a plus-8 rating while Seeley has notched seven points and a plus-6 mark as well. The unit has given up only an astonishing 10 goals against in nine games.
3) FUN WITH FONSTAD: Team captain Cole Fonstad recorded his fifth multi-point outing of the season in 6-4 win vs. POR on 4/3/21 with a goal and three assists. He now has 262 points for his WHL career and presently leads the club with 16 points (4g-7a) to go along with a stellar plus-13 mark.
