Mirco Dufour taken with 19th-overall pick in 2024 WHL Draft
EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Silvertips have selected center Mirco Dufour with the 19th-overall pick in the 2024 WHL Draft.
“Mirco is a shifty, quick player who makes good plays,” commented Silvertips assistant general manager Mike Fraser. “He’s always around the net buzzing. He plays our style. I think he’s really going to fit in with our group of forwards.”
Dufour, an ’09-born Rocky View, AB native, spent his 2023-24 season with Edge School U15 Prep where he recorded 21 goals and 21 assists over 21 games played. He also contributed two goals and five assists in five playoff games. He impressed at the John Reid Bantam tournament, where he logged 12 points over six games played, and represented Team Blue at the 2024 Alberta Cup, where he netted three goals and an assist over five games.
He was named a Second-Team All-Star at the CSSHL U15 level in 2023-24. Dufour previously skated with Edge U15 Varsity in 2022-23, where he led the league in goals with 31 in 27 games played and was named the league’s Most Sportsmanlike Player.
