GAME RECAP: Silvertips dominate possession in 4-2 home win over Seattle
EVERETT, Wash. — Everett dominated possession on home ice, outshooting the Seattle Thunderbirds 58-20 in a 4-2 victory on Saturday night.
Julius Miettinen opened the scoring at 17:48 in the first period, banking a rebound off two Seattle defenders for his 15th goal of the season. Jesse Heslop extended the Tips’ lead at 13:06 in the second, redirecting a Parker Berge shot from the blueline for his 10th of the season.
Coster Dunn scored a shorthanded goal to halve the deficit at 3:59 in the third period. Ben Hemmerling tapped in the eventual game-winner at 14:17 in the third period, his 14th of the season. Though Nathan Pilling brought the T-Birds back within reach just 30 seconds later, a Miettinen empty-netter in the final minute sealed the win for the Silvertips.
Heslop has scored in back-to-back games since returning from injury after a seven-game absence. Tyler Palmer stopped 18 of 20 in the win.
