GAME RECAP: First period sinks Tips, Seattle wins 4-1
KENT, Wash. — The Seattle Thunderbirds struck early and never looked back, taking a 4-1 victory against the Everett Silvertips Friday night at accesso ShoWare Center.
Sam Popowich opened the scoring, converting on the first shot of the game at 1:48 in the first. Kyle Crnkovic followed up with a 4-on-4 goal at 4:44, completing an odd-man rush up ice. Gracyn Sawchyn scored a rebound goal at 15:24 to give the T-Birds a 3-0 lead at the end of one.
Caden Zaplitny would score off a net-mouth scramble at 6:18, getting the Silvertips on the board. Andrew Petruk and Steel Quiring logged assists on the play. Seattle would restore their three-goal lead just 1:09 later, as Luke Prokop netted his second goal of the season for a 4-1 final.

Scott Ratzlaff saved 23 of 24 for the Thunderbirds in the win. Braden Holt stopped 38 of 42 for Everett, including all 19 shots in the third period.
